Extremely Sharp Classification
Capable of (-4) mesh classification, material is fed to a density separator and distributed throughout the tank. A series of teeter bars inside the tank ensure the material keeps moving and encourages light sand to rise over the weirs and heavier, coarser sand to exit the bottom.
Unlike classifying tanks, which can operate effectively with a variable feed, density sizers like to be fed consistently. This means they’re most often fed by a cyclone.
The cyclone will make the first cut (to remove any silts), provide a steady feed and allow the density sizer to work on the material you want.
Depending on the amount of water needed, density sizers can reduce the size of your settling ponds as they use less water than classifying tanks.
